Community validators are now live on the Mainnet with most having the commission set at the minimum of 2%. Having community validators is a huge step forward supporting the decentralization of the Aleph Zero network. Azero Foundation validators will see monthly increases in their current commissions to encourage nominators to transition to the community. Automatic slashing is currently disabled (ie: those staking could lose rewards if the validator does not have good uptime). You are still encouraged to do some research on the validator you choose.
Meadow Capital is running on AWS, which is considered one of the world’s most reliable and secure cloud providers. Meadow is currently supporting both the Mainnet and Testnet.
How to stake with a validator
New nominators with less than 2000 tokens will join a Nominator Pool. Nominators with more than 2000 tokens will stake with an individual validator.
You can see the individual validator staking and commission rate by clicking Targets. Additional information is available in “Validator stats” and Performance.
How to switch if you’ve already staked
- Go to your accounts (Network, Staking, then Accounts)
- Click on the three dots at the far right, then click Set nominees
- Under “nominated accounts”, click the existing validator to remove it.
- Then, in the “filter by name, address or account index” box, search for the validator you are looking to choose (e.g. Meadow), and click it.
Note: if you cannot click the selected validator, make sure to first click on your current validator under “nominated accounts” to remove it.
- Once you have the desired validator in the nominated accounts box, click “Nominate” on the bottom right of the pop-up.
- You will now see the “authorize transaction” screen. Enter your password, then click Sign and Submit at bottom right to authorize the change.
You will see a green pop-up saying the staking is finalized. It will say “waiting nominations” which means you are all set! If you have any questions, stop by the Azero Discord/Telegram or visit alephzero.org!
